Todos Bienvenidos

Miguel Arzabe, an artist rooted in his Bolivian heritage and shaped by global influences, brings vibrant color and cultural dialogue to Todos Bienvenidos, a large-scale woven painting created for George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Blending traditional Andean weaving techniques with contemporary abstraction, Arzabe cuts his acrylic paintings into half-inch strips and hand-weaves them across three stretcher bars, transforming his canvases into rhythmic, tactile compositions.

Inspired by works from the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Todos Bienvenidos celebrates movement, connection, and the shared experience of travel. Its vivid palette and intricate patterns echo the diversity of Houston itself, a city defined by cultural exchange and openness. Perfectly placed in the IAH International Terminal, the work welcomes travelers from around the world, embodying the spirit of hospitality and the joy of journeys both beginning and ending.
